@sacramentourbanmedia916: A London inquest has concluded that 12-year-old Mia Shay St Hilaire died after drinking a Twix milkshake contaminated with hazelnut residue from an unwashed blender. Mia, who had a hazelnut allergy, visited the Pop Inn Cafe with her aunt and sister in August 2023. The blender had previously been used to prepare a Kinder Bueno milkshake. Mia suffered a severe allergic reaction and later collapsed at her aunt’s home. Despite emergency treatment and intensive care, she died. CCTV footage showed the cafe operator had not cleaned the blender before preparing her drink. The operator pleaded guilty to six food safety offenses and received an £18,000 fine and an order to complete 100 hours of community service. Mia’s parents are now calling for clearly displayed allergy-management ratings at food businesses, saying they want her legacy to help prevent other families from experiencing the same loss.#fyp #viral
if you were allergic to tomatoes would you order from a pizza restaurant...I feel bad the girl passed but Nutella and hazelnuts have been around for awhile, there comes a point in where she or her guardians should have been paying more attention and had an epipen on hand.
