It’s so sad and I hope we will all be okay. It won’t be the same without Sama and is horrible that this is her only option left to stop her pain and suffering. Gastroparesis is so hard and causes extreme pain and is difficult when there are no options left for you. 💚💚💚

people who dont know what living with chronic pain 24/7 is like will never understand how mentally tough it is to keep going. the lack of understanding and empathy from able bodied people, even the most supportive ones, makes things even more tough :( sending so much love to all my fellow spoonies. you are all not alone ❤️

The hardest part for me is grieving the woman I was before the diagnosis. I will never be her again. And I still can’t wrap my mind around that this is my new normal. I would honestly choose that same ending, but I’m too stubborn to not fight. Thank you for sharing.

I personally have found some of the greatest friends through chronic illness and pain. We seem to understand each other. If one or the other don’t call or text for a few days we understand that it’s not because we are upset with the other it’s because we have days that we just have to rest hard. It’s so nice to find someone that can understand how you feel. I’m so sorry about your friend. That’s a huge step to make that decision. I can tell it’s hard on your heart. I mean how could it not. Just sending you so many gentle hugs and prayers.

I have gastroparesis and I really thought I was going to die last year because the doctors couldn’t figure out how to treat me thankfully my husband called in a palliative team and they figured it out. This is a terrible illness and I’m so sorry to hear about your friend 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Oh wow. I have no words, but you can feel the heaviness. I was in SO MUCH PAIN yesterday and I haven't been able to leave my bathroom today. You feel miserable, sounds hurt, talking hurts, blinking hurts....you feel like you are making everyone others miserable too. It's such an awful circle of sadness and shame. I love this community. Please take care of yourselves and each other 🫂❤️

it's heartbreaking and chips away a little bit of your soul everyday. It takes what little hope we have of a future that isn't like our present and makes it that much darker and less inviting. I have fibromyalgia and all its comorbid friends with a healthy helping of GI issues. Never spent a day not nauseous, in pain, and bone deep exhaustion in the years I've been dealing with this.
