We rented a room from the houses at the beginning. It’s was the COOLEST places ever to stay. It still had the Underground Railroad in the basement. It was wild.

LOL! I lived at 403 Riverside Dr. the huge house on the corner of Riverside and Kennedy facing the river. Many of these homes were divided into apartments. It was the coolest place I’ve ever lived!

One of those houses facing the river has an elevator you can see through the front windows. Growing up my best friend lived in the Daniel Carter Beard house there on East 3rd street so I spent a lot of time riding bikes down and around those houses.
