Headphones, eye mask. Travel with the seat in upright and tray table up. You don’t have to wake up till they are physically carrying you off the plane.

This is when turbulence is common, and also flight attendants have to sit down and buckle their own seatbelts about 20 min before landing and can't be in the aisle making sure everyone has complied with the safety rules

The final decent takes around 15-20 minutes, at which time no one can get up. So we give you 20 minutes before that to do what you have to do.

Because you will be starting descent soon. Should be packing up your things that are out. Going to the bathroom last minute. The crew is busy doing other things. Tray table up, seatbelt on (which you should be leaving on anyway even while sleeping). It also makes sure everyone gets used to being up for a little bit. You adapt to being awake instead of being abruptly woken up 10 minutes before landing and rushing yourself. Your extra 40 minutes of sleep doesn’t matter for safety, crews duties , ect.

It's to give the flight crew time to clean up anything you have left, for final cabin check (to make sure you guys actually follow the rules that exist for a reason), so the crew has time to get to their seats for landing (around when the plane is 10,000 feet or 10-20 mins before landing), and also so you can be alert and able to react in the off chance of an emergency

I watched a flight attendant have to manually move a man’s seat up bc he kept refusing to put it up for landing. I felt terrible for her 💔
