This case is eerily similar to the Daniel Fernandez case. It highlights the challenges that CPS and law-enforcement seem to have when it comes to addressing neglect and abuse of children when there’s potential custody issues in question. I also think it touches on how fathers are treated when they’re trying to see their children and the mother has them versus the way mothers are treated when the father has them. I feel like fathers are often ignored by the child protective services organization, as if they are secondhand parents. It’s very unfortunate because two baby girls are dead now because the family was ignored in their cries for help yet if the father had gone to the house himself to take the kids away, he probably would’ve been arrested.
