Ms Desjardin has the same necklace as the cult members I think she is apart of the cult, we also never see her body after Carrie throws her across the room. Throughout the show she is seen as protecting Carrie so maybe she was sent to protect Carrie?

I dont think the teacher is dead...but we will have to wait til season 2 to find out. also i think once carrie floats off the stage she's really only focused on getting Chris and doesnt really pay attention and Tina just got lucky and wasn't on the water. Just like the 3 gifted people and Emeline's mom (I could be spelling that name wrong)
