Palos Verdes homes are sliding down the cliffs. Weather and storms are going to get worse. This may be the worst El Niño ever. There is no protection for these homes. Anything done will have to be planned by the Army Corps of Engineers. This is not a local government problem. They don’t have the know how or the funding. A long term solution is needed. I wouldn’t expect any solution soon the Trump administration dislikes California. I wouldn’t think insurance companies would be lining up to insure these properties. ☹️

Only in California do you go from extreme drought to a tropical storm in the blink of an eye. The weather here is on a constant rollercoaster. Stay dry and safe, SoCal!

the fact that people dont understand this is due to all the human construction. starting in the 1800s rivers & the SF bay got filled in with construction causing serious issues with sand on the beaches. its why they have to fill in the beaches with sand bc the ocean continues to erode the coast & without the natural rivers & marsh lands that used to feed the sand & coastline its just going to continue to erode. El Ninos happen every 10yrs or so, this is not new.
