@nadhunpunchihewa: Our last morning in the Maasai Mara delivered one of the most incredible sights of our entire trip. 🦁 A lioness had made a fresh kill — a wildebeest, and dragged the carcass into a thick bush. There she was, resting quietly beside her bloody prize, seemingly waiting for the rest of the pride to return after going to drink water. Lions often drag their kills into cover to feed with less disturbance from scavengers. However, a carcass this size can attract hyenas and other opportunists, so guarding it is important. What fascinated me most was how calm she appeared, resting beside her kill as though nothing had happened, while the drama of the hunt had already unfolded. A raw, unfiltered glimpse into the realities of life in the wild. 🇰🇪
