So you couldn’t have just picked up the phone and asked them how day was going instead of them happy to contact you so now it’s their fault

It is very frustrating, I work in a public hospital and have been on the patient end of it too. I will say, the delays are often due to the doctors doing their hospital rounds in the morning before clinic, operating lists etc. unexpected delays happen all the time, you will be delayed every time over a more urgent case, just like triaging in ED. With that in mind, that delay/waiting time fluctuates significantly throughout the day, so the anticipated delay time you’d be told in a message would be very different by the time you actually arrived to your appointment.

I have my first appointment within oncologist on Thursday in the public health system. Do you really think that I’m going to go and be seen at exactly the time that I’m supposed to be seeing? Have you never been to hospital before?
