In 2011, at age 102, he received the Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award. Shea was inducted into both the Gospel Music Hall of Fame (1978) and the Religious Broadcasters Hall of Fame (1996). He holds a Guinness World Record for singing live to more people than any other solo performer in history.
