Ilhan Omar (D-MN) early Monday morning as part of an ongoing criminal investigation into her immigration paperwork. Fox News Digital reported exclusively that the pre-dawn raid is part of an ongoing criminal fraud investigation into the Somali-born congresswoman’s immigration paperwork, documents filled out by her late father when she was a child. According to her website, Ilhan Omar arrived in the United States in March 1995, when she was 12 years old. She came with her family as a Somali refugee after spending approximately four years in a refugee camp in Kenya. She became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2000, at age 17. Multiple agents wearing HSI jackets were observed outside the residence around 6 a.m. A DOJ spokesperson stated: “Today in the Washington, D.C., area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice. This enforcement action is part of an ongoing federal investigation.” The confirmation represents a significant escalation in a controversy that has followed the radical Minnesota Democrat for years. This comes weeks after White House border czar Tom Homan publicly confirmed in mid-September that Omar was the subject of an ongoing “criminal” investigation. Homan has emphasized that no one is above the law and that denaturalization remains possible in proven cases of immigration fraud.
