It's always one of these five things. 1️⃣ Skipping primer: Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Paint over patched drywall without primer and every repair flashes through. One coat and the wall is uniform. 2️⃣ The $3 brush: Purdy XL brush 3-pack Cheap brushes shed bristles into your finish and leave streaks. A real brush holds paint and lays it smooth. 3️⃣ Wrong roller nap: Wooster 3/8-inch roller covers Too thick on smooth walls leaves orange-peel texture. 3/8 inch is the all-purpose interior nap. 4️⃣ Painting over holes: DAP DryDex spackling Every nail hole shows through paint. Fill them, let it go white, sand flush. Ten minutes, invisible. 5️⃣ The crusty old tray: paint tray with disposable liners Dried paint chunks in a reused tray end up in your finish.
