I dont understand why they didnt just make all car chargers the same.
Apple had to make all their phone charger connections USB-C

the non-uniform charging issue is annoying. they all need the same charge port, and all charges need to have a plug and charge system like tesla superchargers OR have a simple credit card payment method like fuel stations. no apps or subscriptions.

Not lying first time renting an electric car can’t find an electric charging station that work. I’ve driven 2 hrs total to look for a charger 8 attempts all broken. When I find one at a dealership, I had to call the charge point representative. My experience

For those confused: Tesla has its own proprietary charger type (think: Apple lightning cable). Everyone else uses CCS (older models may use J1772).

I don't understand why everyone things electric cars are better when the power to charge them and the stuff to make the battery is just as bad as the gas.

This is what happens when everything is privatized and have to make a profit from something that is free for everyone. Most countries use the people’s tax dollars for community infrastructure and services like Charging stations or battery exchange. We don’t want government regulation or government spending to pay for infrastructure. We rather private contractors to provide services for 3x more than the government and less quality and no oversight. This is what we get substandard product and only provided in certain areas usually for certain groups and the remainder of the money pocketed.

This problem has already been solved in gas pumps. Just use the same standard payment hardware that gas pumps use for charging stations. Don’t make people sign up for multiple accounts, stop using the cheap credit card terminals. Literally just take the payment system from gas pumps that everyone already knows how to use and put it on chargers.

Someone forgot their adapter on the floor by our electric car charger at my business. Sometimes I wonder if they got stranded

An EV has about a 2-3 month learning curve. Sending mom out to charge it in the wild is a recipe for failure. Obviously.

With all EVs moving to the Tesla charge port along with the Tesla's charging network, this is a non-issue. In the past 3 years, I've used public chargers like 5 times.

I am so thankful I have a home wall charger. I don’t think I would buy an EV if I didn’t. It would be too stressful.

Electric cars, smart appliances, smart thermostats etc are not made for everyone. I especially love my EV now that gas prices are sky high. My average cost to charge my EV at home is $22/month.

I have a 2013 Leaf and then I thought EV’s were only for techies. Looks like it hasn’t changed that much since then.
