@mseliaschicgeek: NYC TEACHERS: Your CAR days could help a fellow educator recover. ❤️ Adrian Casiano, an educator at PS/IS 87 in Queens, recently received a life-saving liver transplant from his father. Now I’m asking our teacher community to help give him the time he needs to heal. Under the DOE’s donation rules, every TWO CAR days donated gives him ONE day of leave. As a thank-you, I’m giving one eligible teacher a chance to win a $1,000 Lakeshore Learning gift card! 🎁 Here’s how to donate and enter: 1️⃣ Ask your payroll secretary for the DOE’s CAR Transfer Form & Rules, available through the UFT website. Have them confirm your eligibility and Adrian’s required recipient information before completing it. 2️⃣ Complete and sign the form to donate at least TWO CAR days to Adrian, then submit it to your payroll secretary or timekeeper for processing. 3️⃣ Take a clear photo or screenshot of your completed form. Before sending it to me, cover employee/file numbers, signatures, and any other sensitive information. Leave your name, Adrian’s name, and the number of days donated visible. 4️⃣ Email the screenshot to [email protected], along with confirmation that you submitted the form to your payroll secretary. 📅 Submit your donation and email your proof by 11:59 p.m. Eastern on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2026. One entry per eligible teacher. One winner will be selected at random after the deadline and contacted directly by email. The prize is a $1,000 Lakeshore Learning gift card.
