It aims to target age-related changes in metabolism and hormone levels, with a large-scale trial involving more than 1,300 dogs across over 70 veterinary practices. Meanwhile, the Dog Aging Project is testing rapamycin, a drug being studied for its potential to improve dogs’ health and extend their healthy years. The trial will track everything from heart health to cognitive and physical function. Neither treatment has yet been proven to extend dogs’ lives, but researchers hope they could one day give our beloved pets more healthy years by our sides🥹❤️
