@sheisuncaged: I think one of my favorite things about myself is that life has never been able to convince me to stop growing. And baby… it has tried. 😂 I've had seasons where it felt like somebody poured concrete over everything I was trying to become. Loss. Rejection. Starting over. Being misunderstood. Watching things I thought would last forever disappear. Having to rebuild while still grieving what broke. There were moments I couldn't see the sun. But apparently nobody told my roots. Because somehow, every single time life tried to bury me under something heavy, something in me kept reaching. And that's what I understand differently now.. Resilience isn't always standing tall. Sometimes resilience is one tiny green thing pushing through a crack nobody thought you'd find. Sometimes it's getting out of bed. Trying again. Laughing after a season that made you forget what your laugh sounded like. Creating something beautiful with hands that once couldn't stop shaking. Choosing softness after life gave you every reason to become hard. That's growth too. I don't need to pretend the concrete wasn't heavy. It was. I just refuse to give it credit for something my roots did. You can change my environment. You can underestimate me. You can misunderstand me. You can put every odd imaginable against me. But apparently there's something in me that will search for the light anyway. Maybe that's what becoming Uncaged has been all along. Not becoming impossible to break. Becoming the kind of woman who knows how to grow through the cracks.
