@jessawander: 🍂🏔️ MAPLE PASS LOOP | LARCH SEASON 2026 📍 North Cascades, Washington Golden larches, snow-dusted mountains, and a little taste of winter! 🍁❄️ The larches are showing off their beautiful golden colors, making this one of the most scenic fall hikes in Washington! ❄️ Trail Conditions: It snowed the day before our hike, and we experienced some light snow flurries along the way. Mountain weather changes quickly, so make sure to check the forecast and recent trail reports before heading out! 🥾 HIKE DETAILS 📍 Location: Maple Pass Loop, North Cascades, WA ↔️ Distance: 7.2 miles (loop) ⛰️ Elevation Gain: ~2,020 ft 💪 Difficulty: Moderate–Hard ⏱️ Duration: 4–6 hours 🚗 Trailhead: Rainy Pass (Highway 20) 🎟️ Parking Pass: Northwest Forest Pass or America the Beautiful Pass 🍂 HIKING TIPS • Start early to avoid crowds and parking issues. • Dress in layers and bring waterproof gear. • Trekking poles and traction devices may be helpful with snow or icy conditions. • Check weather, trail conditions, and Highway 20 road status before leaving. • Bring plenty of water and snacks.
