It can’t be that hard to love someone… can it? Sometimes I sit and think about it for too long. Allah ﷻ created hearts to feel mercy, tenderness, and attachment. He placed love between people as a sign. Yet somehow, in this time we live in, it feels like people forgot how to love sincerely. People leave so easily now. Some never truly want you, but instead of being honest they slowly fade away. They replace you quietly, as if you were something temporary. Some don’t show affection. Some forget you exist the moment you are not in front of them. And some… some do want you. But only for a moment. Only until they believe they found something “better.” As if hearts are things to upgrade. But there is no “better” when something is sincere. People today just stopped putting effort into what they claim to want. They want love without responsibility, affection without loyalty, closeness without patience. Sometimes I think about the love that existed before us. The way our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ treated his wives the gentleness in his speech, the patience in his character, the way he noticed small things, the way he made them feel valued. When you compare that to what love looks like now… it almost feels like something pure was lost somewhere along the way. And it hurts to realize you have never felt that kind of love yourself. I don’t think I even know what it truly feels like. What it feels like to be chosen sincerely, without hesitation. What it feels like for someone to stay without looking for an escape. People disappoint you enough times that your heart slowly starts building walls. At some point you stop believing affection when it appears. When someone shows love, your first instinct is not happiness anymore… it’s distance. Protection. Silence. I learned that the hard way. And honestly… I hate that my heart had to become like this just to survive disappointment. Sometimes I wonder if maybe some hearts were simply not written to experience that kind of love in this dunya. Maybe some of us are meant to learn patience through loneliness. Maybe some of us will only understand what love truly is when Allah ﷻ rewards us for our patience. Still, there are nights when the thought lingers quietly in my chest. What if I never find someone who stays? But Allahu a‘lam. Allah knows what is written for every heart. And maybe the love I keep hoping for is not lost… just delayed. . . #fyp #muslimtiktok #salafi
