@dailymailuk: Why you might be seeing more deer across the UK this autumn 🦌🍂 As the leaves turn golden, Britain’s deer are entering one of the busiest periods of their year: the rut, or breeding season. From late September through November, stags and bucks become more active as they compete for mates, with roaring, bellowing and dramatic clashes between rivals. Falling leaves also make deer easier to spot in woodlands, while their feeding habits change as they search for fallen acorns and beechnuts. Your best chance of seeing them is often around dawn or dusk. Want to see them for yourself? Richmond Park and Bushy Park in London, Exmoor, the New Forest and Petworth Park in West Sussex are all popular places to spot deer in the wild 👀🍁 Just remember to keep your distance, especially during the rut, when males can be unpredictable.
