OMG tipping has been a part of culture for hundreds of years. If you’re going to be cheap and not tip, cook your own food and serve yourself. They rely on their tips.

Tipping is still how it works in the service industry… places like ND pay workers 4.86 an hour and most servers are depended on tips everywhere in the US as their income

If anyone should get the tip it should be the cooks, they made the food in a timely manner. The server literally just drops it off and occasionally gets drinks. Honestly I don’t think anyone should get a tip. I’m a line cook at a diner btw

tipping should be a few bucks. maybe 5 10 for exceptional service....but this 25 to 30 percent tips is ridiculous. that's not tipping for appreciation, that's me paying them an high wage when I don't even employ them.

This not true. it started during prohibition. ppl stop going to place with no alcohol. Wages was cut servers used tips to get by. Alcohol became legal again restaurant owners never raised wage and kept the tipping going.
