i like the perspective of this putting the viewer in the position of the angel. in a way, i think both of the characters are correct in their arguments. we could sit here and take the time to digest and understand all the information that is being given to us without a care in the world for time. we arent on a deadline to respond to the characters, they wont know how long its taken us to scroll to the next slide and continue the conversation. its playing out completely naturally for them. as for all the information being presented to us, the diagrams and artwork, most people will only take a glance before moving on. this can be perceived as a bad thing, as the viewer/angel being ungrateful or ignorant to the information that they have the privilege of seeing. but can you blame someone for avoiding something that they wont enjoy? even in immortality, would you not try to do things you find fun? spending lifetimes in this world could get boring after a while i also like how this shows the contrast between the greatness of the universe, versus the priorities of the people. the angel is presented with each intricacy of earth at all times, acutely aware of it all. but they are choosing to spend their time conversing with people at a cafe. even the people they are talking to are worried about the relatively small things that affect their life. you cant fault them when the angel is doing a very similar thing. how else are the people meant to live? you cannot sustain your body by basking in the greatness of the world. your body will often prevent you from doing so just by having needs.

i like how here to the angels, humans are just pictograms. every single thing here is perfectly described amd labeled. everything is revealed, yet it is so bland, and the angel seems to not say anything almost like its zoned out, almost like it barely cares

I love how you can tell the angel is outside. They looked up, then down, and it's likely they have a wide view, possibly 360°. Or they're looking at the people, then around? Really neat!

as a kid I used to believe that there was some source of knowledge that knew the exact numbers of everything (measurements, seconds, anything measured by numbers) and this refreshed my memory so beautifully

The irony is that we have probably spent centuries imagining what it would be like to encounter something superior to us, yet we never stop to consider what such an encounter would reveal about our own nature. Perhaps the truly disappointing thing would not be discovering that we have nothing to teach a higher being, but discovering that even when faced with something capable of offering us an understanding of reality we could never attain on our own, we would still reduce it to our needs, our prejudices, and our own wretchedness. I don’t know if that makes us inherently cruel, but it certainly reveals the extent to which we are capable of placing our desires above something we have not even attempted to understand. Perhaps the problem has never been our inability to find answers, but our tendency to turn everything into an extension of ourselves.

Assuming the Angel is a 4th dimensional being or higher, this puts into perspective how incomprehensible everything can be even in a lower dimension than you. We are 3D and we assume a 2D life would be just lines but we still think of paintings as not being 2D when they really are. They lack true depth only the illusion of it

I really like how the diagrams let you infer a location and thoughts from the angel/reader rather than the comic having an actual background and dialog, I think it adds to it. The table we sit at, thinking of space when talking about heaven, a coffee processing machine as the café operates in the background, and the way we seemingly zone out once the girls start asking us mundane, "pointless" questions and instead get distracted by things like a nearby squirrel... ugh, it's awesome. I also like how no emphasis is placed on the humans. The diagrams overlap their icons, but it's clear they're still somewhat our focal point
