I’m kinda on the customer side if there’s a broken toilet and someone sleeping in the room, there’s no reason from the hotel side that they can’t just give them a second room

At My small inn, if it’s in the middle of the night, We totally would let the customer have both rooms to not disturb anyone. Since the maintenance isn’t there until the morning, he’s right, there’s nothing to be done with that room anyway and at some point the buddy would wake up and move to the new room for the maintainece to fix it in the morning

I've had this before & we gave them the use of a second room for their bathroom. They weren't grateful at all, yelled at us at check out, and left a bad review. So, no. You want 2, you pay for 2. Come down & use the lobby bathroom.

Had an issue with the toilet at our recent hotel stay. Front desk brought a plunger to the room and handed to my husband. He tried for an hour and nothing. Only then would they move our room.

I mean what if his friend gets up to use the toilet and it’s all stopped up? I’d rather be woken up now to move rooms than have to see a full toilet in the middle of the night when I need to go.

In my experience 8 out of 10 such slow clogs are caused by the users flushing objects in the toilet.

I'm torn on this one, if the guy at the desk has bathroom issues, he'll never hear the end of it if he wakes his buddy up to move rooms. But, part of me thinks the sleeping guy snores and the guy at the desk wants to sleep in peace.

This is a safety issue. All rooms have to be accounted for. Say there is a fire in the middle of the night. They will pull the contingency report and only evacuate occupied rooms. If you transfer a guest in the system but they stay behind in the room they are not occupying, there is no way to know they are in that room.

We had a mouse in our room last weekend and the front desk guy just brought a sticky trap up and left!! We had to ask him to move us lol
