@galthebabydoc: In my defense, the song never says which doctor mama called. Babies are born with very little vitamin K, which is why the newborn vitamin K shot matters so much in the first months of life. It's what prevents vitamin K deficiency bleeding. On my 4th shift as a NICU rn we had a crunchy mom refuse vitamin k. She fell asleep cosleeping him, he fell onto the tile hospital floor, intracranial bleeding was so bad we withdrew 48 hours after. It still haunts me 10 years later.
