3 WAYS TO STOP OVERTHINKING 🧠🔄 Overthinking can make a small problem feel enormous. You replay what happened yesterday. You imagine ten different things that could happen tomorrow. You analyse somebody’s message, their tone, why they didn’t call, what they might be thinking… And after all that thinking, nothing has actually changed. Try these 3 things: 1. ASK: “CAN I DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS RIGHT NOW?” If yes, identify the smallest useful action and do it. Send the email. Make the call. Have the conversation. Start the application. Write down the plan. If there is genuinely nothing you can do right now, recognise that continuing to mentally rehearse it may not solve it. 2. SEPARATE FACTS FROM THE STORY IN YOUR HEAD. Fact: “They haven’t replied to my message.” Story: “They don’t respect me. They’re avoiding me. I’ve done something wrong. The relationship is finished.” Your mind can fill missing information with frightening possibilities. Ask yourself: “What do I actually KNOW, and what am I ASSUMING?” That question alone can interrupt a lot of unnecessary worry. 3. COME BACK TO WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW. Overthinking often pulls you into the past or pushes you into an imagined future. Bring yourself back. Take a walk. Exercise. Pray. Journal. Clean your room. Do some work. Talk to someone you trust. Pay attention to what is physically around you. You don’t have to solve your entire future tonight. THINKING IS USEFUL WHEN IT LEADS TO CLARITY. But when you’re repeatedly asking the same questions without new information or action, you’re probably no longer solving the problem. You’re just circling it. Sometimes the answer to overthinking isn’t more thinking. IT’S ACTION, ACCEPTANCE OR LETTING GO. ❤️ #MindShift360 #Overthinking #MentalWellbeing #MindsetReset #SelfAwareness
