Shoutout to the Incas who were successfully performing brain surgery at the time. Incas also had a sophisticated writing system using Quipo, where you tie knots along strings and “read” them by sliding your fingers down the strings. Different knots = different letters/characters. Very similar to braille. They were lightweight & traveled well. Could even get wet (unlike pen & paper). The Incas had vast libraries full of Quipo strings. Unfortunately, the Spaniards burned them all down bc they didn’t understand what the weird strings in the buildings meant. We lost SO MUCH KNOWLEDGE bc of this single act by European colonists. To me, it’s on par or worse than losing the Library of Alexandria in Egypt.

Native is not a culture, but I’m sure you’re talking about indigenous people? If you look up the word native, it means home to the land. Whatever land you are born on, you are native to that land. Anyone can be native, as long as you’re on your own land.✌️❤️

From Pre K to 8th grade was in the Dormitory then was sent to a mormon foster family till I rebelled and was sent back to the reservation with bus ticket and was told God be with you 😂😩

My tribe had 3 tribal children finally returned to us. They were finally given the proper honoring, ceremonies and burial amongst their people. They were discovered in unmarked graves at a school in Pennsylvania

Yup my grandma talks about the boarding school. She calls it 5 year school n she told me all about it. It’s scary n I cried the way she was treated
