But then again this is extremely rare. It is considered a good thing to bring smt and if u don’t, in a lot of places u will be looked down upon. Sure u can say that, thats not the right place but then again this typa situation is rare to see

2 years ago I was just starting a new job and funds weren’t available for me to spent $40 on Thanksgiving for a diner with a family friend. I offered to make a dessert instead and come relax. She declined and things went downhill since. I’m blocked on everything, I haven’t seen my godson. I don’t tell anyone when I’m struggling anymore

This hit home for me because for 3 years I couldn’t afford anything for my kids birthday every year I felt worthless and each year it got worse then the last and wasn’t because I was trying I just time get hard but also time means more than anything money can buy

Last year my brother invited me to his sons bday. I went even though I had no money. When my nephew was opening his gifts I felt like shit. They went around the room opening the gifts one by one that everyone brought. When it got close to me I told my brother I had to go. He text me before I got out the door and said check your trunk. Confused I went outside and checked my trunk. In it was a remote control truck like the one my nephew had pointed out at the store a few weeks before that. I text my brother and asked what that was meaning what the hell you know? Anyway he said he had bought it that day we were there and had put my name in the “from” area. I’ll never forget that. My nephew however was more excited that I came back and almost forgot to open the gift.
