TADC walked so KOG could sprint. A lot of people forget that merch sales are a big part of show funding. TADC did so well with merch and advertising that KOG is able to have a proper schedule and really good merch too!

Glitch probably doesn't do much decision making on those fronts. that's from Dana Terrace being an experienced showrunner. KoG is arguably their first professional production, so it makes sense that it's being handled more professionally.

Also KOG is made by someone who is very experienced with show running, I think in addition to the mentioned points this isn’t the creators first rodeo so she has some polish

I dont mind the merch drops because it will be invested into the shows. It also keeps fans feed within the breaks of episodes. Like the art books have definitely kept me excited for KOG.

Merch one of the better ways to support artists. U get stuff in exchange to u give em money to fund the show

I hope glitch can eventually become a household name! We need more indie animation and with how big tadc was and how high quality nearly everything glitch produces has been i really think it’s possible.

I honestly don’t care much bout merch, glitch is an inde studio, with a vast crew of show creators who are given full creative control of their shows, money for said shows have to come from somewhere

“took them a year and a half to release episode two” no it actually took them a year and a half to start episodes 2-4, make secrets hidden in episodes (+ make QR’s with fleshed websites of hidden secrets), announce the upload schedule, continue the work on episodes 3+4 after the release of episode 2………

I am always confused about how people want shows to make money to exist. like don't sell merch don't charge to watch don't release in theaters don't have ads. what is paying for the show then? investors? investors who demand how you make you show look?? I don't honestly know what they want.

They really do need some multi-season shows if they want to be around long term. I think their strategy of having 8-episode shows with rushed stories really wasn’t a fantastic idea, and they’re at the level now that they can definitely ascend from that and create long running shows

3 months between 1 episode for an indie series this beautiful seems very reasonable to me
