I don’t think there is one answer to every problem, whether it be hating a group of people because people in that group have wronged you or forgiving. The honest answer in our modern day spaces is that we are too complicated to give everyone one answer to it but to let people feel what they feel and understand in the end if that is what they truly believe. I personally believe that generalizing is wrong, but I also understand that as a man, a woman will look at me with fear despite not knowing who I am due to the larger picture of men who have not only killed and raped women, but the society we live in that does nothing to punish the bad men. But generalizing has always been a problem, meant to separate us from the whole. A racist person separates themselves from people of color and hates them, a misogynist hates and separates themselves from women or actively seeks to hurt them, during 9/11, Americans had their hatred and generalized so many Arabic people and I use this example because it’s the most recent example I have growing up in the US. Now do I have my prejudices? Yes. I can’t lie that if I see someone wearing a MAGA hat, that I’ll immediately assume they are a piece of shit, or if I see a police officer, that I’ll assume they don’t have the best intentions in mind. At the end of the day, we live in a world of diverse opinions, some we don’t like, some I definitely don’t like, but we make enemies and to say there are no enemies is a lie, but what we can do is learn to come together with our allies and change things for the better, than concentrating on vitriol and hatred and wasting our energy in giving them our thoughts than to do something productive and become a might tree rather than the few sticks that line the forest floor
