Hi, dog trainer here. Have your guests ignore the dog completely! The talking to the pup makes it harder for the dog to stay put. Reward while the dog is in the down and avoid tension on the leash. Good luck :)

A toy to redirect happy, guests should pivot their bodies if he attempts to jump, a leash at all times to step on or grab if he tries to jump and guests should ignore him entirely till he calms down. Their attention is a reward, eye contact greetings and baby voices only once he’s calm and 4 paws on the floor
