INFJs rely heavily on emotional validation is why there is a door slam because people pleasing keeps them safe from having independent thought (any thought that deviates from something the other person wants them to think). They only door slam when it stops feeling codependent.

INFJ here. I have Door Slammed often (and am actually currently going thru one now). I typically give lots of room for people I love to grow and make mistakes, which can manifest in someone taking advantage of the “chances” I give. But each time they choose to continue their bad behaviors that cause them to hurt me, it’s noticed and the pattern is tracked. Not in the case of keeping score, since someone can hurt me but ultimately change their behavior, and I will work with them. But once I see I’m wasting my breath, time and energy - I turn and walk away and never look back, no matter how much I love them. This is after several convos and “chances”. But once I’m done, I’m done. 🫡😶🌫️

INFJ here. Yes. Multiple times I cut off people from my life and the moment I cut them off (no matter how much they meant to me before) they suddenly felt like complete strangers to me. All feelings and attachments GONE. Never longing or yearning back for social connection with that person. As if any feelings were completely removed from me the moment I made the decision. I am GRATEFUL that it comes to me naturally. If someone abuses me and I finally say STOP, there is no risk of me being ever lured back into that social connection. I cut off partners and family before. Once I say goodbye it's forever. I cherish people I have around me and I am willing to give multitudes of chances but there is limit to everything.

INFJ here and this is so accurate 😭😭😭 I’m struggling right now with figuring out if i need to let my bf of 8 years go bc he won’t take the next step and propose to me. He knows how important marriage is to me and he has been saying for the last 4 years that he wants to marry me but hasn’t initiated anything 😭

As an INFJ, I experienced it through friendships. I always want to find a right cpmmunity for me so even if it hurts me when they are ignoring me. I became the second option and the back up friend even if it hurts me as long as I have a friend. Then one day, I can no longer hold it any longer so I silently ended that friendship instead of begging for that person to come back. I cried every time for so long. I learned that if they truly care, they wont do that. So my answer to that is firmly no, i cannot give them another chance. Because I already gave them too many chance just to end up to nothing.

i've already cut out someone of my life but if they ever come back, long after, i will give them one last chance. It's like a thermostat, when it reaches to the top, you have to cool down (the door slam) but then when you're over it, you could give one last chance, after months or years.
