@mybareskinkindoflife: When you've lost a child, there are moments when you wish people could truly understand what you're carrying. The ache, the emptiness, the way life changes in ways you never could have imagined. Sometimes it's frustrating when people don't understand, or when they say things that remind you just how different your worlds are. But then I remind myself of something… I would never wish this kind of pain on another parent just so they could understand mine. I wouldn't want anyone to know this heartbreak firsthand. I wouldn't want another family to experience the kind of loss that changes you forever. And that reminds me that people don't always know what to say, or how to understand something they've never lived through. I'm learning to give grace where I can, protect my own heart when I need to, and remember that not everyone has to understand my grief for it to be real. If you're a grieving parent, I see you. I know how lonely it can feel to carry something that so few people around you truly understand.
