im pretty sure the % is an estimation of confidence that your dna comes from a specific region. its not telling you thats how much of your dna is composed of that. so u can still have a higher accuracy/confidence number than your parents yes.

And I noticed my dad’s DNA only pertains to his cousins and siblings and family who still live in Mississippi or southeast region of America. It’s not going back to the people that actually lived there from DNA. They’ve studied. I don’t think I’m explaining this right hopefully you get it.

I’m done with Ancestry. I went into my tree and it literally says I am dead. WHAT??? and I can’t change it. I don’t understand. Why am I dead first they put my highest percentage from my European ancestry now they’re saying I’m deceased. I want out. I don’t think this is working out for me.🤣🤣

The ancestry staff confirmed that the % you get on your ethnic regions is not always reflected of 100% of your sample’s actual expressed DNA when I asked. For most people it’s close to 99% in my case it’s not and yes that could mean a several % point discrepancy especially if the %s don’t match what your parents show on the DNA break down. If ancestry added low confidence regions instead of rounding many people’s results would drastically change over night tbh.
