@jakeheyen: There was absolute chaos in the Ironman World Championships this weekend. Both the male and female pro races had insane endings. So on the male side, the guy who won was Vincent Luis. He overtook the lead with under 5 miles to go. And won by less than 2 minutes. Now, the guy who got second got a bike drafting penalty earlier in the race. And the penalty was for 3 minutes… So that cost him the race. On the female side, even crazier. Solveig Løvseth took the lead with less than 5 miles left. It looked completely over, she was cruising and was surely gonna win. But then, with less than a kilometer to go, things went south. She became super wobbly, started walking, then just collapsed. And she just could not regain any strength. The woman in 2nd at the time, Taylor Knibb, overtook her with less than a kilometer to go to win. Sad to watch, but Løvseth eventually got back up and finished eighth. Just insane endings. Endurance sports are becoming must watch television. Props to all the athletes and to Ironman on an amazing weekend. #ironman #ironmankona #kona #triathlon #marathon
