@i.see.her_: People can casually say they’re depressed, traumatized, or anxious, laugh about needing therapy, share mental health awareness posts, and encourage everyone to speak up. But when someone is genuinely struggling, when anxiety disrupts their everyday life, depression persists despite reassurance, or trauma changes how they show up in relationships, patience suddenly becomes conditional. The truth is, many people are uncomfortable being listeners, especially when the conversation involves something they cannot begin to imagine experiencing themselves. This is one reason people often struggle with loneliness following traumatic events or while experiencing severe mental health challenges. Because what do you mean I should get over a traumatic loss within two months, yet you still speak about your breakup from middle school? How is it that we can revisit heartbreak from years ago, but I am expected to stop talking about something that is affecting me emotionally, mentally, and structurally right now? #MentalHealthAwareness #GriefJourney #LivingWithGrief #TraumaRecovery #MentalHealthMatters
