The MIL was very harsh. However, if you can't afford childcare then you can't afford children. It's so damn aggravating how people today think their parents/in-laws should be free childcare just because they have kids.

My daughter lives almost 3 hours away. She has to pay for daycare for her children and she's a single parent. What is with kids expecting their parents to pick the slack. I raised my daughter right. I love her and my grandkids and will be there when I can.

Not my mother dropping us kids off at grandma's house every weekend then complaining when I ask her to watch the kids for a few hours, stating "I raised my kids, im not raising yours" b*tch you barely had us 🤣

if this happen to me which it has... the next job, daycare will have priority as they're more reliable. grandma will have to work around my schedule. my mom was not happy but I just remind her of losing a job is a good reason.

My mother insisted on babysitting my daughter when she was young but when I called her to ask she would always say “what would you do if I wasn’t here?” A simple no would have sufficed but she had to go on and on about me needing help with my disabled child while my husband worked to support us. Eventually I stopped asking.

I know it's a skit but it had me wondering: who did grandma tell that she couldn't watch her that day, why not on the phone to other grandma to see if she can help, and finally wouldn't you also be on the phone with dad if this happened?

OMG!!! My MIL said she would watch my child Tuesdays & Thursday but then, booked vacations, appointments and shopping trips. Had to have back up care because it wasn’t always convenient for MIL to babysit

So....she said she COULD babysit, then all of a sudden can't??? yeah .no. .. I'm guessing next she's going to complain that the daughter-in-law who lost her job doesn't work or contribute to the relationship.... this mother-in-law is horrible

and you know what blows my mind when grandparents do this. guaranteed 99.9% of them that say they don't want to watch their grandkids dropped their children off at their parents house everyday

What kind of a grandma does that. I watch my grand movies five days a week, and my husband and I still have lives of her own as well. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

someone told me this statement and its stuck forever now. "our own parents didn't want to parent and pawned us off on grandparents every holiday and break. what makes you think they want to parent their grandkids? but the ones who will offer are the great-grandparents all the time."
