@butwaittheresdamour: 🏔️ Visiting Lake Louise? Don’t make these 5 mistakes! We visited Lake Louise and Moraine Lake with four kids (including a one-year-old!), and a little planning made all the difference! 1️⃣ Assuming you can just drive up and park. You CAN drive to Lake Louise, but parking is extremely limited, fills early, and is expensive. Personal vehicles aren’t allowed at Moraine Lake. My recommendation? Book the shuttle! 2️⃣ Thinking you’re out of luck if shuttle tickets sell out months in advance. Parks Canada releases 60% of shuttle seats just TWO days before departure at 8 AM Mountain Time! That’s actually how we booked ours! 3️⃣ Thinking you need separate shuttle tickets for both lakes. One Parks Canada reservation gets you to BOTH Lake Louise and Moraine Lake using the Lake Connector shuttle. And parking at the Park & Ride is FREE with your reservation! 4️⃣ Not allowing enough time to explore. Lake Louise is so much more than a pretty photo stop! We hiked up to Lake Agnes Tea House with our kids, and it was one of our favorite experiences of the trip. Give yourself time to enjoy it! 5️⃣ Not packing layers. Mountain weather can change quickly, and it gets colder as you climb.
