The mannequins in Skyrim are NPC’s with a wooden texture and have active scripts that lock them in place. They glitch and move from time to time.

Actually, it’s not the fact they couldn’t. It’s the fact that fallout three and games around that time could only hold a certain amount of data and so this saves them from needing to even code the track or train touching

In gta rockstar couldn’t make moving cars so they put tiny npcs with elden ring horses and fallout trains on their heads inside the tires to make them move

In division 1 there’s an enemy where if you shoot their weak spot (a backpack) it would cause the ammo in it to shoot out in all directions. The game engine couldn’t handle such a task so the devs just put a little guy in the backpack that would shoot erratically whenever it was destroyed
