@kristinthorne: A young woman found dead. A police officer accused of grooming her as a teenager. And a death initially ruled a suicide. The federal murder trial of former Massachusetts police officer Matthew Farwell has begun. Prosecutors allege Farwell began sexually exploiting Sandra Birchmore when she was just 15 years old, while he was involved in a police youth mentorship program. In 2021, Birchmore was found dead inside her apartment. She was 23 and pregnant. Her death was initially ruled a suicide. But federal prosecutors allege Farwell - who was married at the time and having an affair with Birchmore - strangled Birchmore and staged the scene to conceal their relationship. Birchmore was found dead with a duffel strap looped around her neck and tied to a door handle. Farwell has pleaded not guilty and says that Birchmore took her own life after Farwell broke up with her. Birchmore died approximately 24 hours before Farwell's wife gave birth. Farwell is on trial right now in federal court in Massachusetts. Swipe ➡️ for what you need to know about this disturbing case. #SandraBirchmore #MatthewFarwell #TrueCrime #TrueCrimeNews #CrimeNews
