@chris.raroque: PART 3/12 ✶ People STILL use help centers… Okay, hear me out. Help centers sound like something from 2012 😅 But people STILL use them, and the more complicated your product gets, the more useful they become. I thought showing people the features during onboarding would be enough. But realistically, who remembers everything they saw when they first opened an app? My daily planning app has 50+ features. There’s no way someone’s taking all of that in on day one. What I’ve found is that people will actually go through the help center if they know it exists. Especially once they’re paying. A lot of people want to make sure they’re getting the most out of the product, including the features they haven’t tried yet. There’s also a bonus: your help center becomes marketing material. You’ve already explained what a feature does and how to use it, so you have something useful to send people. That’s why I like connecting email sequences to what someone has or hasn’t used. If someone’s been using my app for a few days but hasn’t touched the Pomodoro timer, maybe they just don’t know it exists. I like to send them a quick email showing them how it works and where to learn more. I spent a lot of time building these features. It took me a little longer to realize I also needed to keep helping people find them.
