One day your card won’t work and you don’t have cash on you and then you will realize why it’s important to wait AFTER YOU PAID

this is an interesting take instead of just teaching your child patience and social skills and that they don't always get exactly what they want when they want it

Judged for opening the snacks before paying. Judged when the toddler’s freaking out bc they can’t have said snacks. Judged if you bring a tablet for them to play on. Parents can’t fucking win. I swear to god.

back in the 2000s my mom did this with me and my siblings too when we were younger and she would pay when we got to the cash register , i can confirm we are all normal members of society and her doing that for us did not influence any wrong doings

So the people judging in these comments would rather a TODDLER starve and stare at snacks the whole time shopping?

This is how you make them entitled, getting what they want, and when they want it.

I don't understand why it's so hard to take snacks with you and be prepared though? I know a lot of people are saying well if my child doesn't get it now it will be a problem but it's only a problem because they've been taught they can make it a problem.

Today I literally told my kid “wait, we have to pay for it first” because part of parenting it teaching them how to function in society…,

Everyone out here saying it causes entitlement 🙄 I will give my kids a snack and/or drink from the store before checking out because I WANT to not because they feel entitled to it. They know no is no. If I was to say no to them there wouldn’t be a problem. Y’all need to calm down

I’m not a mom but I can only imagine sometimes kids just need a little snack. Hey as long as u do pay for them I don’t see why it’s an issue 🤷🏻♀️

No absolutely not. Cards decline for all kinds of reasons not to metion IF YOU HAVENT BOUGHT IT YOU ARE STEALING. My son is learning to wait like everybody else does he can have a snack and drink in the god damn car

As a cashier I also genuinely don’t know why people are so judgemental about this lol. never once pissed me off when a parent gave me an empty bag and said their child already ate it. Just scan and go on about your day.

i mean it’s also not that serious to tell them they can wait 15 minutes because mom has to pay for it first

This is interesting! As a mom to a 5 year old. I have always taught her that opening stuff in the store you’ve not paid for is stealing.

what if your card declines at checkout or the system closes? you can't pay for the food they've eaten. Why is it so hard to keep snacks they enjoy in the car and have them on hand so you don't have to do this?
