« Ur so quiet » if I talk you would hate me and say I’m cringe or dumb and that I seek attention so let’s say nothing instead

A skit says Archaeopteryx was just a bird: its teeth don't count, because chickens carry the genes for teeth, and its wing claws don't count, because hoatzins have them. Archaeopteryx had feathers and wings, so in one sense it was a bird. It also had a long tail with twenty-two bones in it, teeth instead of a beak, and three separate fingers with claws. No living bird has that tail, those teeth, or three separate clawed fingers. Its skeleton is a small dinosaur's, with feathers. The chicken point is right, and it points the other way: chickens keep switched-off instructions for teeth, and in a mutant chicken the embryo started growing them. An animal only carries that recipe if its ancestors had teeth. The hoatzin point is right too. Hoatzin chicks climb with claws on two of their wing fingers and lose them as adults. Whether those claws were inherited from the dinosaurs or grew back is still argued, but the fingers under them came from dinosaurs, and every bird's wing still carries them. That's what transition leaves behind. Part three: the halfway animal the teacher couldn't name. Sources below. Responding to @genesisapologetics. Please be kind here and in their comments; the argument is the point, not the people. Sources: Archaeopteryx, about 150 million years old, found in Germany in 1861, with its tail, teeth and clawed fingers (Rauhut, Foth & Tischlinger 2018); chicken embryos growing teeth in the talpid2 mutant (Harris et al., Current Biology 2006); hoatzin chicks climbing with their wing claws (Abourachid et al., Science Advances 2019); three finger bones in most birds' wings (Xu et al., Nature 2009), fewer in some flightless lineages (de Bakker et al., Nature 2013).
