Pehlaj claimed that his father appeared to have been targeted for speaking out against the imposition of governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the removal of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) provincial government. However, the NCCIA has denied having Iqrar-ul-Hassan in its custody, while his family continues to demand his whereabouts and immediate release.
