@japdmedia26: United States — Media commentator Joy Reid shared an experience on her web show, Reid This Reid That, after helping a lost child at a shopping mall. Reid stated that she and her adult daughter found a young boy who was crying and separated from his mother in a crowded store. Reid helped guide the boy toward security to locate his parent. When the mother approached, Reid stated the woman struck the boy across the face. Reid described the incident to her guest, Jacque Reid, stating: “I freeze because he says, 'Mommy.' and before he can get the -ommy out, she open hand slaps this boy across his face with so much force that we all jumped.” Reid told the mother that the boy was simply frightened, after which the mother thanked her and walked away with the child. Reid stated she decided not to contact law enforcement, explaining: “I was like, I'm not a person that calls police on black people.” Reid added that the experience left her feeling unsettled: “I didn't know what to do. I didn't want to call the cops on her and be a whole Karen. I didn't really know what to do.” #UnitedStates #JoyReid #ReidThisReidThat #japd
