@likeayzpp: People are arguing in the comments again, I really don't get you guys. She was little and didn't know what that word meant, she apologized and said she feels really bad about it. What else do you even want? You are never satisfied, you just need to hate on someone. #alwayslalisa #lisa
Americans have to remember, not everybody knows about thier history like that.

people can be fluent in a language but not to the point where they
understand things that aren't exactly taught to them. For her it was probably just lyrics in the song and without the historical context behind the word they typically don't get why it's troublesome. Like I've worked with people from various backgrounds and many of them don't understand American phrases or vernacular or even racial slurs that were used here. You need to be able to step out of your frame of reference and try to understand things from their references and frame. Otherwise you're imposing your lived experiences on someone who doesn't have that experience or context that we have of the word in the U.S.

It always baffles me when people try to use the “didnt know because its not their culture” so then why say something you didnt even research on what it means in the first place? 😅

Asian country education doesn’t teach American history. So it’s understandable. The question is how could yg or whoever told them to sing them to sing the n word. They definitely know about the n word and proceed to tell those trainee to sing em.

As Asians, especially those of us who didn’t grow up in the US, the N-word isn’t something we’re taught in school. Some of us only hear it through music and pop culture, without fully understanding its history or the weight it carries. Of course, learning and respecting its meaning matters, but not everyone automatically knows it. If a word is so harmful, maybe there should also be more effort to educate people instead of expecting everyone worldwide to already understand its context. You can’t expect people to know what they were never taught, especially when the same platforms that make the word popular are the ones exposing it to millions.
