had two euths at the end of today, I trim each paw, make paw prints and nose prints for the parents, whisper in their ear that they were the bestest boy or girl for their parents and that they will always be loved and deeply missed before kissing their temple and wrapping them up. its the least I could do for them, and on one of the paw print papers I write "from my nose, to my toes, I was loved"

I lost my horse earlier this year. I wanted him cremated. when the trailer showed up to get him. it was the most gloriously lit up trailer ive ever seen. you could see it coming a mile away. I mentioned to the driver before he left that I really loved how lit up the trailer was. he said. we keep it lit in respect for our passengers so they are never left on the dark. I had a hard time talking after that.

I sent my 13 year old GSD on her bed she passed in… I assumed they’d picked her up off it. When my husband went to gather her remains for me he asked about the bed and they told him they never took her off it so she was comfortable. I sobbed for HOURS over how absolutely thoughtful that was.

I’ll never forget the goodbye I had to say to this boy. He had 2 heart conditions that kept him from exercising or getting too excited or he’d pass out from lack of blood to his brain. Pups with even one of his heart conditions wasn’t expected to live past age 2. He made it to 14. His vet was using him as a source of hope for other parents who had pups with the same condition. The last thing I told him was “go ahead and run as much as you want now buddy.”
