This has always been me. I admire beautiful weddings, but do I want all that attention and stress? Absolutely not! A small, intimate ceremony with my family is more than enough for me. In fact, if it could just be me and my partner, even better! I’ve never been a fan of being the centre of attention, and Nigerian wedding culture comes with too much wahala for my liking.

The fact that I’m going through this right now is crazy, I made it a mission to show up for each of my friends this year at every time something important came up I was there for them and even on a normal day I tried being there for them. My birthday was on the 10th of this month and people didn’t show up for me. I felt alone and right now I’m still dealing with the pain I felt then. I now have this thought that they don’t like me as much as I do like them. I really feel disappointed and literally moving forward I’d just pour that energy I use to pour into others in myself.
