I failed many times to stay quit. What changed was one day I just accepted I wasn’t ready. Within a week half the shame and guilt from the habit faded, and as it faded the habit lost whatever appeal I was getting from it. Without the guilt and shame I didn’t have the desire to keep going back. It sounds weird but it worked.

Everything we tried to suppress comes back all at once. It sucks and it hurts like hell. We need to feel it to heal it, though. All of it, emotional and physical, will get better if you stick with it. If it gets too much, seek medical attention. Reach out! You are not alone! 🙏❤️🔥💪✨️
