That truckers hitch is the best to tie a Christmas tree to the roof of a car. I show at least 2 or 3 guys that knot I see struggling with their tree after I tie mine up.

my dad taught me the truckers hitch when I was kid, tying down loads in the back of the truck. next to tying my shoes, that's the only things I remember from him.....

Only problem with the second knot is when it gets very very tight almost I’m possible to get untied, I suggest using a stationary bowline
