Ballet Classique Ballet school Sissonne in first arabesque with pas de chat 🩰 This is one of the most challenging and important exercise in the Vaganova syllabus. It requires a lot of control and full-body coordination, and this combination brings us closer to the quality of dancing required on stage. The most common mistake is in the sissonne to first arabesque: the jump does not take off with 2 legs, it takes off from 1 leg. The bottom leg pushes off the ground actively, even slightly shooting forward and out when fully stretched in the jump, and then landing safely through the toes with control to absorb the impact. In the pas de chat, the upper body must remain open, with arms held in position without distortion. The key is to maintain a composed, stable upper body while the legs move swiftly in the air.
