I had to explain in detail why I needed the amount of time to pump that I did. so I legit walked to my (male) bosses desk after I pumped and showed him how to clean and assemble a breast pump. man was redder than a tomato but left me alone for the rest of my employment

My manger is a Japanese man who doesn’t speak English he didn’t like that I would go sit in my car and pump it’s a small restaurant there genuinely isn’t another location he protested it till I sat in the kitchen one day top off and pumped in front of the whole (gay) kitchen staff

And this is why I moved to third shift. Can't bug me on overnights unless you're coming in yourself 😂 (I'm kidding, my manager is a wonderful man that moved mountains for me to be on overnights)

I did 8 rounds of iui a few years ago to try to get pregnant, was finally successful on the 5th one but lost it at 6 weeks. I was crushed. my (then) boss said it was a good thing and I should wait until I tried again because we already had 2 pregnant women on shift. I had only told my boss because my appointments always fell on my shift and I'd have to take off.

this is why when i start my own doula business, i would never let working mothers that work for me get their breaks, and if they needed extra time for wrapping up their pumps or anything i would make sure they were paid for that time

I had a manager tell me this, she also had a baby but was critizing me about clocking out right at 5 instead of staying late. I told her we have different priorities and she did not like that 🤣

My previous manager tried to tell me that I didn’t need to pump or breastfeed past 6 months when really he was just annoyed that he couldn’t send me into the field without providing me a place to pump. I moved departments not long after that discussion

Genuinely if I wasn’t so lucky to be self employed with my job and able to make my schedule and leave as needed, I wouldn’t have a job. We’ve had so many drs appointments and more upcoming idk how others get it all done.

my ex boss was a pumping mom at one point and asked me constantly if it could just wait until i got home, put it off for a half hour, and was supposed to relieve me one day for my pump break and was almost TWO HOURS late. i kept calling her and she ignored me every time until my coworker called
